Pearl Run
A Botim mini program where customers challenge a shop's Port Master AI in a quick product quiz and win that shop's coupon, on a cartoon sea chart of the Gulf. Merchants open a challenge with one sentence. Checkout runs through Botim Pay.
🗺️The world
Pearl Run turns the Gulf into a cartoon sea chart. Abu Dhabi's islands, Reem, Saadiyat and Yas, sit in turquoise water, and every shop that joins becomes a port on the chart. Between the ports stand lighthouses at places everyone knows: the Gate Towers, Saadiyat Beach, Yas Bridge. A single dhow carries the player from port to port.
The currency of this world is the pearl, a nod to the trade that built these cities long before oil. Pearls are never bought and never sold. You earn them the way divers did: by going out and winning them.
🧔🏽♂️ The Port Master AI
Every port has one. A captain who guards the shop's treasure chest, knows the products inside out, and is proud of it. It is an AI, and it says so. Beat it in a duel and it hands you a treasure scroll.
📜 The treasure scroll
A real coupon for that shop, with its value written on it before you play: "AED 20 off at Reem Gadgets, on bills of AED 100 or more." It only works at the port that issued it.
🦅 The Falcon Guide AI
Watches over the whole chart. Announces new ports, reads out the weekly fleet standings, hosts lighthouse duels where no shop is nearby. Labelled as AI, and never pretends to be a person.
🏴 The fleets
Every player belongs to an island fleet. Every pearl you win at a port counts for that port's island, so Reem, Saadiyat and Yas race each other every week.
Your rank climbs as your pearls do:
🧭How a player plays
- Open the chart. See which ports have treasure open, how many scrolls are left, and which fleet is leading this week.
- Pick a port and challenge the Port Master. Five questions about that shop's products. Both of you race to answer; the first correct answer takes the point. You can play by voice.
- Win the duel, win the scroll. Beat the Port Master and the treasure scroll is yours. Lose, and you still take a few pearls home. Either way, your island's fleet gets the pearls.
- Spend it at the shop. Show the scroll at the counter, or pay inside Botim. The discount is applied and the shop collects the rest.
- Earn more on the way. Check in at the counter, or share the challenge to your group chat, and the Falcon drops a few extra pearls. Lighthouses offer pearl-only duels, so there is always something to play.
🏪How a merchant plays
- Open a port. Shop name, island, category. Done.
- Say what you want to sell. One sentence to the Falcon: "I want to clear 50 headphones this weekend, budget 1000 AED." It comes back with a full treasure plan: coupon value, number of scrolls, budget cap, a Port Master persona, and five questions written from your product list. Edit anything. Nothing goes live until you tap Publish.
- Watch the chart fill up. A challenge card lands in your customers' group chats. Players duel, win scrolls, and walk into your shop to use them.
- Redeem at the counter. Scan the scroll. Valid: the discount applies and the balance is collected through Botim Pay. Expired, already used, or from another port: the app says exactly why and charges nothing.
- See what it did. Duels played, win rate, scrolls issued and redeemed, check-ins, sales made with scrolls, budget reserved. When the chest is empty, the challenge pauses itself.
⚖️Rules of the Gulf
These rules keep the game fair for players and safe for merchants. They do not bend.
- Pearls are earned, never bought, never cashed out. They buy rank and bragging rights, nothing more.
- Treasure is funded by the merchant and capped by the merchant. A challenge can never spend more than the budget behind it.
- Duels test knowledge, not luck. Nothing is wagered. Every scroll shows its value before you play for it.
- The Port Master plays fair. Its difficulty is set when the challenge is published, shown to every player, and never changed to protect the budget.
- Limits keep it honest. Three duels per port per day. One scroll per port per week. A daily pearl cap for everyone.
- AI never hides. Port Masters and the Falcon Guide are always labelled. No bots pose as players, and no fake crowds are shown.
- Nothing personal leaves the ship. A nickname and an avatar are all a player needs. No contacts, no location, no ID. Landmarks are landmarks, not sponsors; a brand appears on the chart only after it has signed up.

💡Why merchants care
A quiz about your products is a customer learning your products. A scroll that only works at your port is a customer walking through your door. A chest with a cap is a promotion that cannot run away from you. And every redemption is a payment made inside Botim.
